With colder temps officially here, and winter nearly upon us, beauty and fashion expert Rebekah George stopped by to share some of her favorite products for taming flyaways, moisturizing skin, the hottest makeup tips and trends, and much more!
Candace Rose: With winter nearly officially here, what are some of your top tips for us to put our best face forward this season?
Rebekah George: “Well, if you really want to put your best face forward I say there’s nothing prettier than a white bright smile. It really is your best accessory this time of year and you can get that so easily by using Crest White Strips. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried them before but they’re so simple to use and whether you have a few hours or if you have time for regular touch ups, there really is something for everyone. At under $60 there really are no excuses. But if you’re not regularly whitening your teeth, you’re yellowing them, so it’s important to do.”
Candace Rose: The harsh winter temps can wreak havoc on our skin and hair. Do you have any advice on how we can get glowing skin and shiny locks this season?
Rebekah George: “I certainly do. I say you have to apply a body lotion every day. So as soon as you get out of the shower I really suggest applying your body lotion while your skin is slightly damp. St. Ives has their Naturally Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Lotion, it’s made with oatmeal and it’s also made with shea butter which is rich with A, E and F. And those are fatty acids that help to really nourish and hydrate your skin. And it’s the same story for your hair. You’ve got to hydrate it and especially as we get older, it gets even drier. Pantene’s Ageless Beauty Collection comes with Pantene’s Age Defy Shampoo, Conditioner and Thickening treatment. And together they work to really prevent all the signs of aging we deal with all the dryness, the coarseness, the brittleness, and even thinning. It’s $40, but a $75 value at Amazon.com.”
Candace Rose: Many of us will be heading out to parties over the holidays. What are some of the hottest makeup trends this season?
Rebekah George: “Well, for makeup I really love the appearance of a nude eye. It’s so glamorous but not looking over the top. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner in Nude looks. It’s nine coordinating shadows that really work together so it takes the guesswork out of ‘does this color work together with this color?’ They work together beautifully. You can use them wet, you can use them dry . If you want to have more drama, just dip your brush into the water and then paint it on. It will give you a beautiful bold look, and you can also use them as a liner.”
Candace Rose: Do you have any advice when it comes to fashion?
Rebekah George: “Well, I’ve got to tell you, a stylist’s secret weapon is Static Guard. It really helps to prevent the static we get, the static we build up and every stylist I’ve ever worked with always keeps it in their kit. Now they have a mini version, which is only $3. You can throw it into your tote and when you’re leaving out the door prevent any kind of fashion emergency during the day and it has so many great uses. You can even spray it on a comb or brush and just comb it through your hair and get rid of flyaways. Believe it or not, I swear!”
Candace Rose: I’ll have to try that!
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share?
