Black Friday is widely known as the biggest shopping day of the year for mass retailers, and over the last few years Cyber Monday has gained notoriety as the largest shopping day for online retailers. This year we’ve also seen shopping on Thanksgiving gain popularity, as well as new kid on the block “Social Sunday”.
As someone who loves sales, I won’t deny that I shop on Black Friday, I’ve been known to spend on Cyber Monday, and next year I might take in a Thanksgiving deal or even participate in Social Sunday. But one thing is definitely for sure, I support Small Business Saturday. For those who don’t know what Small Business Saturday (November 24th) is or who have never heard of it, it’s a day where the public supports small business retailers. Growing up in a small town I frequently shopped in antique shops and boutiques with my mom, grandma or aunt. Yes, we would shop at our mass retailers, but one thing is for sure, I learned very early on to support those who work endless hours, with little money and many times on their own to make their dreams come true.
We all have a dream that we deserve the right to act on. Please support your local small business owner tomorrow, November 24th (and every day), their dreams depend on you.
