Candace Rose: How can we look and feel our best this season, and where do we start?

Bahar Takhtehchian: “I don’t think there’s anything more beautiful than doing something good for other people. And thankfully Pantene is making it really easy to do that this season. They’ve got a great collection called ‘Beautiful Lengths’. They’ve got shampoos and conditioner, and the shampoo and conditioner actually helps to strengthen your hair against damage. And this way you can grow it, you can cut it and then you can donate your hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. And if you’re not familiar with this program, it’s fabulous. Basically they collect healthy donations of hair and then they take them and they create real hair wigs, and they give them away for free to women that are undergoing cancer treatment. So it’s such an amazing way for you to not only take care of your hair with their great products but you’re helping some other woman who is going through a tough time look and feel beautiful as well.

And in addition to this, Pantene in the springtime is once again hosting National Donate Your Hair day. So if you want more information on Beautiful Lengths or Donate Your Hair Day, just click on Pantene’s Facebook page, they’ve got a nice little tab called Beautiful Lengths right on there.”

Candace Rose: Oh, that’s wonderful.

Candace Rose: How about when it comes to makeup?

Bahar Takhtehchian: “Well, when it comes to makeup, we all want that healthy looking tanned glow. Of course one way to not do it- we don’t recommend at Shape, that you sit out in the sun or that you go to tanning beds because that’s really, really dangerous for you. Instead, we do recommend that you use a great bronzer. And Physician’s Formula, they have some amazing bronzers, but I particularly like their Glow-Boosting Season-to-Season bronzer. It’s a powder (compact) that’s very lightweight, but in that small compact there’s four different bronzing tones. So you can actually customize your look, and in the summertime you can go darker; in the wintertime you can go a little bit lighter. And I think a lot of women tend to shy away from bronzers because they don’t want to look orange, they don’t want to get streaks on their face, but this one is mistake proof. I promise you, you won’t get any stains or streaks, but you will get that healthy, natural looking tanned look.”

Candace Rose: How about fashion?

Bahar Takhtehchian: “Well, it’s interesting because as it turns out, more than 50% of women in the U.S., they wear sleeveless outfits in the fall and in the winter. And Dove actually conducted a survey and found that women are wearing these sleeveless dresses, tank tops and stuff when they either go out with their friends or when they’re at these holiday parties that are just around the corner. But when we’re wearing sleeveless outfits, confidence is of course key. And you want to make sure that you’re using a really great deodorant. Dove has their go sleeveless Soothing Chamomile deodorant. It’s a fabulous deodorant, it’s going to give you smoother softer skin in your underarm area in just five days. Plus it’s been clinically proven to soothe shaving irritation which is a big problem especially in the wintertime when our skin is a little bit dry. You’re of  course getting 48 hours of protection, and like a lot of Dove products this has a quarter Dove moisturizer, which gives your skin that extra hydration that it really craves in the winter months. So if you want more info on this definitely check out Dove’s Facebook page.”

Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you’d like to share?

Bahar Takhtehchian: “Well, I’d like to say that our December issue of Shape magazine is on newsstands now! We are so excited to have Cindy Crawford on the cover. Inside the book you are going to find some great tips on how to battle holiday bulge, of course unique workouts, and great recipes as well.”
