Hollywood’s biggest and brightest environmentally friendly stars such as actress and EMA Green Parent award winner Jessica Alba, Modern Family’s Julie Bowen, actor Jesse Metcalfe (whose show Dallas won for best episodic drama), Newsroom star Olivia Munn, actor and EMA Futures award winner Ian Somerhalder, actress Amy Smart and husband HGTV host Carter Oosterhouse, Revenge actres Emily VanCamp, reality star Francesca Eastwood and mother Frances Fisher, and countless celebs were out in full force to celebrate the 22nd annual Environmental Media Awards on Saturday, September 29th.
The awards which are held annually at Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, California, honors stars who make a significant contribution to the environment both on screen and off. This year’s EMA Green Parent Award winner, Jessica Alba credits seeing her infant daughter (Honor) eating her diaper for inspiring her to launch The Honor Company. EMA Futures award recipient Ian Somerhalder of the IS Foundation mentioned feeling so helpless during the BP oil spill and knew he had to do his part to make a difference. Actress Julie Bowen divulged that much to the dismay of her children, she drives a Prius instead of a ‘fancy car’, in order to make a difference in this world.
