Jack White, Nas, ZZ Top, and Ben Folds Five were just a few of the top performers at the third annual Virgin Mobile FreeFest Music Festival which was held at Merriweather Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on Saturday October 6th.
The completely free music festival which “free’d out” in under two minutes had over 50,000 music fans in attendance. According to Virgin Mobile Chairman, Sir Richard Branson all that was asked of them was a small donation to help those in need. Branson stated “It’s a free festival, we try to encourage people because it’s free to make donations to youth homelessness. In America it’s a big problem, and from the donations that were made last year we’re now building a big homeless center in Washington where kids can go and stay, where they can learn to become entrepreneurial.”
