Most of us have been affected by cancer in some way, but it’s not something we bring up in everyday conversations. How many times have you sat around with your girlfriends or even your mother and asked when was the last time you did a self breast exam’? Have you had that lump checked out? We’re more likely to talk about the guy we’re seeing, the drama at home or the office, but talking about one’s health can be off limits or taboo. Well, acclaimed actress Emma Stone is doing everything in her power to change that. The Amazing Spider-Man star and Revlon’s Global Brand Ambassador is stepping out to star in a campaign that is very near and dear to her heart, and the hearts of many mothers and daughters for breast cancer awareness. Emma was joined by her beloved mother Krista Stone, a triple-negative breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed with the disease in 2008 to star in Revlon’s first PSA encouraging women to use “your lips to save lives”. The campaign which was initiated by Revlon and Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) is meant to encourage women to talk about cancer, and the importance of early detection. The beautiful print image of Emma and mother Krista was shot by photographer Steven Klein and will start running in national women’s magazines and regional publications in October and November. The campaign serves as a reminder for all of us to cherish what’s really important to us and what matters most, our health and that of our loved ones.
