Former child star and acclaimed actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is everywhere these days! From starring in this summer’s blockbuster hit, The Dark Knight Rises to this fall’s Lincoln, and Looper where he stars as a contact killer who comes face to face with his future self (Bruce Willis) to appearing in a fashion feature in Glamour’s October issue- available digitally and on newsstands now! Joseph sat down with the magazine to chat on everything from his co-stars Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt to starring and directing his new film Don Jon’s Addiction, and much more!
Check out his interview with Glamour below:
GLAMOUR: You were cast before Bruce Willis in Looper. How was it decided that he would make the perfect future you?
JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT: Rian [Johnson, the director] wrote this for me, which is actually the first timethat’s ever happened. For Bruce’s part, you need someone who’s older than me but could beat me up. Bruce definitely could!
GLAMOUR: Emily Blunt is awesome in the movie as a mysterious, strong woman with a shotgun.
JGL: Oh man, I love Emily. I think a lot of girls who are that good-looking let it define them, but not her. Emily is this very British, funny, intellectual, neurotic-in-that-Woody- Allen-way kind of person.
GLAMOUR:You’ve gotten really buff for your next movie, Don Jon’s Addiction.
JGL: It’s about a guy who objectifies everything in his life—women, friends, even his own body. He spends a lot of time in the gym.
GLAMOUR: You direct the film too, so does that mean youhave to objectify yourself?
JGL: Yes, it does.
