When it comes to packing for a trip most of us are guilty of worrying about what clothing we should lug in our trusty suitcase, but we neglect to think about what to pack in case we come down with a cold, get blisters on our feet from wearing sandals we knew weren't the best idea for hiking in or how to protect ourselves against bug bites! Well, travel and lifestyle expert Sarah Evans of The Glam Globetrotter joined me recently to discuss just that, so you're guaranteed to enjoy your trip and feel great too!
Candace Rose: With summer officially here, many people will be traveling; what are the must haves everyone needs on the go?
Sarah Evans: "Well, I think there's actually a couple must haves that every traveler needs on the go. Whether you're traveling with a fan full of kids or a suitcase of strappy sandals that might give you blisters, which I often do- my first must have are Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages. These bandages have a fabulous quilt vent technology. This technology allows wounds to breathe even better than before while still protecting from dirt and germs. It wicks away fluid so it keeps your wound clean, which is key. My favorite part- they've partnered with fashion designer and surfer once again, Cynthia Rowley to create the Band-Aid brand limited edition collection of designer bandages. They have a variety of designs and they come in the Band-Aid brand beach sports kit, so you have these fabulous designer bandages and Neosporin packets which are easy to use. You can take it on the beach, you won't get sand, and you won't get any of the elements in there and you can be safe and stylish at the same time. You can get these products at Amazon.com, so go there and check it out.
And of course when you're getting ready to hit the road you don't want to get sick. You get that little stuffy nose, the itchy throat- I always arm myself with Cold-Eeze in my bag. Cold-Eeze has a variety of products and the key ingredient here is zinc gluconate. The zinc gluconate is clinically proven to reduce the duration of a cold by nearly half which is huge. And these zinc ions that are in all of the Cold-Eeze products, when they're absorbed into your upper respiratory tract it inhibits the cold from replicating. With the Cold-Eeze products you have a lozenge, you have a new oral spray- where just two sprays in your mouth is just the same as one lozenge, and they're getting ready to put the new quick melt product (day and night) in one box on the shelves. Love these! They're fast, effective, taste great. You take one at night, sleep like a baby; wake up feeling relaxed, refreshed and not drowsy. It's good to note that you can take these products with another symptom or pain reliever at the same time."
Candace Rose: Are there any other must haves we should know about?
Sarah Evans: "Another must have for me is I need to protect against bug bites- major annoyance in my book and I'm sure everyone feels the same way. Whether it's mosquitoes, deer ticks, flying insects that bite- Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard collection is really the must have in my book. I throw it in my bag because it's fuss-free and it protects against those viruses like West Nile or lyme disease which no one wants. For traveling they have the Skin So Soft bug guard towelettes with picaridin. These towelettes are so easy to use and effective. There are eight towelettes in one resealable pack, this pack is $14 and it's also a great value and you can get these by going to Avon.com or just talking to your local Avon representative."
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional travel tips or information?
Sarah Evans: "You can find all of this information on my website which is GlamGlobetrotter.com, as well as some other fun summer travel tidbits that will keep you safe, stylish and healthy on the road!"
