In Touch Weekly magazine's Senior Lifestyle editor Amy Oselkin joined me once again, this time to discuss celebrity beauty secrets, celebrity approved home remedies, beauty tips for the guy in your life and the must haves for man's best friend!
Candace Rose: Can you give us the scoop on the top celebrity beauty secrets?
Amy Oselkin: "A big part of my job is to go through all of these products and discover new tips, so I'm excited to share everything with you. To start off with- Jordin Sparks looks amazing right now, and she said one of her secret weapons is the Reebok RealFlex Fusion TR Training shoe. She noticed a difference the moment she put it on, and basically it's the single layer construction that makes it very lightweight. It also has these multidirectional nodes so it's really flexible and has a lot of protection.
Now here's another tip for when you start to bare more skin in the summer. For example a lot of us feel we have to choose between a lotion that works well and one that feels good. Vaseline has a Total Moisture line of lotion that does both- it hydrates the skin and keeps it healthy and it feels good. I love the Aloe Fresh because it's light and so it doesn't feel sticky or heavy, especially in the summer- that's the last thing you want!"
Candace Rose: How about when it comes to home remedies- can you tell us about any that actually work?
Amy Oselkin: "Catherine Zeta Jones says she bites into an apple when she wants her teeth to look clean and polished. Gwyneth Paltrow says she puts chilled spoons over her eyes to get rid of puffiness. Now here's a tip using Arm & Hammer Baking Soda as an exfoliator- basically before you apply those self tanning lotions you want to make sure your skin is smooth so make a paste that is three parts Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, one part water – mix it together and apply it on your skin; rinse it off and your skin will feel invigorated and flake free."
Candace Rose: What are some guy friendly fixes?
Amy Oselkin: "Men don't love spending a ton of time getting their nails done so one tip is to apply a little bit of teeth whitening toothpaste on their nails, let it sit for a few seconds, rinse it off and their nails will look whiter and brighter."
Candace Rose: Do you have any health and beauty tips for man's best friend?
Amy Oselkin: "Yes, I do! We have Jake here today and it's especially important to use a gentle shampoo like Hartz Groomers Oatmeal shampoo on your dogs. It's great for their delicate skin and it has very unique ingredients like oatmeal and that keeps their coats bright and shiny."
Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you'd like to share?
Amy Oselkin: "For more information you can go to MoreTipsForYou.com."
