Summer Beauty and Fashion Survival with Rachel Hayes of

Candace Rose: With summer nearly officially here and the weather heating up, what can we do to look and feel our best?

Rachel Hayes: "The number one question I get from our readers on is how do you deal with summer hair doldrums and I say the trick is to use a great reliable product and to keep things simple. This summer Pantene has a new Pro-V Aqua Light collection- there's a shampoo, conditioner and a weightless conditioning shake which is a cool product. It instantly conditions your hair and prepares it for heat styling. The whole collection was created to really nourish, condition and really clean your hair without weighing it down, which is key for summer. I think Pantene's really rewriting the rules for conditioning care because the products were created to prevent all of the causes of heavy, dull hair so you just get bouncy, bright results. I've been using it and love it.

Another hair problem that a lot of women complain about during summer- they may not want to talk about it- but that's dandruff. And if you have any signs of flakiness or irritation or just a tight feeling on your scalp, you should try the new Head & Shoulders formula, it contains the same proprietary technology of ingredients to do a more thorough job of removing the organisms that cause dandruff. But it also removes excess oil on your scalp and on your hair, which is key during summer so you get great bouncy results. And it has a new crisp apple scent that is delicious for summer."

Candace Rose: What are some of the latest hair trends that will beat the heat?

Rachel Hayes: "Well, we are loving all of the updos. There are some great topknot styles where you just create a messy bun and have it high up on the head; you could do a side ponytail that leaves one shoulder bare which is really sexy and also keeps you very cool. And braids. Braids just continue to be super hot. We see them on the red carpet every day."

Candace Rose: How about fashion survival?

Rachel Hayes: "Well, for fashion it's all about bright colors, and bold prints, and mixing and matching, and my summer survival tip here to keep those brights really bright is to invest in a good detergent. And Wisk, the brand behind 'ring around the collar' has a new breakthrough called Wisk Deep Clean. So the dirty truth is that, many women don't realize this but body oil and sweat can build up inside your clothes and Wisk Deep Clean actually goes beyond surface stains and gets inside the fabric to break up that body sweat and oil, and it leaves your clothes looking super bright and keeps them fresh all summer long."

Candace Rose: Do you have any additional tips or information you'd like to share?

Rachel Hayes: "I think for makeup you should go for a bright lip, it's really pretty during the summer. But keep your skin bare; avoid heavy foundations; avoid too much eye makeup, that could cause a meltdown; get a great waterproof mascara. And if you keep your hair simple and light you'll be looking gorgeous."

Candace Rose: Where can we go for more information?

Rachel Hayes: "Go to We update the site constantly with the latest celebrity beauty trends, fashion trends, how-to tips, advice, videos- we have everything."
