Candace Rose: Do you have any tips for both boys and girls prepping for their prom?

Jeannine Morris: “Of course I do! You know it’s very, very important for boys and girls have clear skin at their prom. This is something that they should start taking care of a couple weeks before the prom and I’m going to recommend they use Clearasil Ultra Acne Marks Collection. It has a face mask that doubles as a wash and a spot treatment. The face wash has 2% salicylic acid in it which helps to remove all the dirt and oil and gunk from your pores that causes breakouts but if you leave it on once a week for about 10 minutes, it acts as a mask, so really get a good, deep clean. And then sometimes even if you take care of your skin you’re going to get an occasional pimple that can sometimes leave a mark behind because you’re a teenager, things like this happen. Their spot treatment has salicylic acid, licorice root and vitamin b3 in it that will help take care of that pimple and that mark in a flash. What I like about it is it’s moisturizing, so it doesn’t dry out your skin like a lot of other treatments do.

And then for guys and girls, one of the main accessories for prom alike is a bright white smile because they’re going to be taking so many pictures all night long, so I’m going to recommend that they brush with the Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Enamel Renewal Repair toothpaste. This toothpaste gets rid of 90% of surface stains in just two weeks, that’s a miracle because you know these teenagers, they’re eating and they’re drinking all these things, and to brighten their teeth in that short amount of time is crucial because they’re going to be holding onto these prom pictures for the rest of their lives, so you want to be proud and show off that smile with confidence. CR: What are the latest trends in makeup?

JM: This is where it gets fun, the ladies get to experiment with makeup and hair trends. And you know with makeup at your prom, you have to remember you want to look fresh and lively but you don’t want to overdo it. You want to accentuate your natural features, so I’m going to recommend using Nivea’s A Kiss Of collection which I think is perfect for prom because you want your lips to look healthy and moisturized with a hint of color. They have a kiss of shine, a kiss of smoothness and a kiss of shimmer. Pick the one  that’s right for you and pick a color that’s right for you. They have an array of colors and you can just use it once in the beginning and it holds your lips natural moisture in so you don’t have to reapply it during the prom; throughout the night, but if you’re going to do some color on your lips, stay away from using color on your eyes because it might look like it’s too much. One of the biggest trends I’m seeing this spring season is using color in your makeup, so I highly recommend that girls add a little hint of color on their eyes or their lips but not to overdo it because again, they’re young – they’re 16, 17, 18 years old and they shouldn’t be wearing too much makeup to the prom.”

CR: How about for hair?

JM: “Now for hair, hair this season it’s all about wearing an updo no matter what dress you’re wearing, updos will look great, they’ll look classy and fun. To make your updo fresh this year try adding braids into it, you can do one big chunky braid on the top or you can add a bunch of little braids and mix it all within a loose chignon. Whatever suits your style and your dress. You can play with an updo with a braid but if your hair is too short for an updo, try playing around with hair accessories with a little bit of sparkle to dress it up a little bit.”
